The Ryukin Goldfish is a popular variety, similar to a Fantail Goldfish suitable for indoor aquariums.
Ryukins feature a wide varieties of colour from reds to whites, calico to black. Ryukins feature a diamond shaped body and a taller, elegant split caudal (tail) fin. Their head is pointed whilst their body is deep. All of their fins are paired except the dorsal fin.
The Ryukin Goldfish are very popular amongst cold water aquarists, and are quite durable as far as goldfish breeds go. Nitrates should be kept low and PH should be around 7.5.
They are a majestic looking specimen when compared to a common fantail and do well on their own or with other goldfish.
I suggest Ryukins be kept indoors rather than outside in a pond, however some customers have had success with these outside over the years. Customers have also had success keeping Ryukins in a bowl doing a weekly change of water.
