One of the more popular varieties of goldfish is the Fantail Goldfish. Popular because of their good looks and relatively cheap price, these fish are purchased for both indoor and outdoor subjects.
Fantails feature a wide varieties of colour from reds to whites, calico to black. Fantails feature an egg shaped body (much like a Nymph) but a true specimen will have a split tail. Their head is rounded whilst their body is of a similar height and width. All of their fins are paired except the dorsal fin.
The Fantail Goldfish is very popular amongst cold water aquarists, and are reasonably durable as far as goldfish breeds go. Nitrates should be kept low and PH should be around 7.5.
Fantails can be kept in a bowl, aquarium or outside in a pond.
