One of the tougher varieties of goldfish available is the impressive looking Nymph Goldfish.
Nymphs feature a wide varieties of colour from reds to whites, calico to black. Nymphs feature an egg shaped body (much like a fantail) but a true specimen will have just a single tail (like a comet.) Their head is rounded whilst their body is of a similar height and width. All of their fins are paired except the dorsal fin and tail fin.
The Nymph Goldfish are very popular amongst cold water aquarists, and are very durable as far as goldfish breeds go. Nitrates should still be kept low and PH should be around 7.5.
There tends to be a wide variety of colour available when compared to a common fantail and these do well on their own or with other goldfish.
Nymphs can be kept in a bowl, aquarium or outside in a pond.
